Pomodoro Technique to Increase Focus at Work

November 16, 2023
There is a technique known as Pomodoro that helps divide work time into intervals called "work windows" for twenty-five minutes each. After each interval, a short break follows. The steps to apply the Pomodoro technique are as follows:
  1. Identify the goal you wish to achieve.
  2. Set a timer for 25 minutes. Focus on your work during this interval until the timer rings.
  3. After 25 minutes, take a five-minute break. Engage in light activities that help you relax, such as brewing tea or coffee, doing some muscle stretches, or simply walking around the room.
  4. Resume focus on the task for the next 25 minutes, then take another five-minute break. Repeat this process up to four times.

If the task is not completed within four sets of 25-minute intervals, take a break for fifteen to thirty minutes, then repeat the steps above. By implementing the Pomodoro technique, it is expected to enhance productivity and enable more effective time management in completing tasks.
