The API (American Petroleum Institute) certification renewal audit activity was carried out at the Bekasi Plant of PT Bakrie Pipe Industries on 21-23 August 2023. This activity aims to ensure the conformity of the API Q1 management system requirements and API Spec product requirements. 5L and API Spec. 5CT is well implemented at BPI. From the results of the 2023 API audit, it is recommended that BPI is eligible to continue extending the API certificate it already has, which means that the steel pipes produced by BPI meet the standards for use as oil and gas conveying pipes.
API 5L & API 5CT certificates are certifications that suppliers of steel pipes for the oil and gas industry must have. This standard is internationally recognized and is used to ensure that steel pipes meet specific requirements in terms of quality, safety and performance of steel pipes. Like other international standard certifications, companies that have implemented and are API certified need to carry out monitoring audits (surveillance) and recertification/renewal periodically.
