President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially opened the exhibition of the largest infrastructure in Indonesia, Indonesia Infrastructure Week 2016. The exhibition takes place from 9-11 November 2016 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan, Jakarta.
In his report, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Indonesia Rosan P Roeslani said, it was with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) initiated the exhibition this as a form of support for infrastructure development being promoted by the government.
"In the government of President Jokowi, infrastructure development is a priority. The need of funds for infrastructure development reached Rp 5,500 trillion, but only a third of its met by the government through the state budget, budget and state-owned enterprises. The role of foreign investors is needed in infrastructure development in the future," he said in JCC Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (11/09/2016).
According to Rosan, with the implementation of this exhibition is expected to attract the private sector to invest in the infrastructure sector to pursue development targets announced by the government.
"We believe this event will take place from an investment in infrastructure projects in this event. This infrastructure program is very much needed . Due to lack of competitiveness by the number 3, because the infrastructure is left behind. Firstly because of corruption and bureaucratic inefficiency second," he said.
Rosan report, the public interest and investments in the exhibition is remarkable. The exhibition was attended by about 600 exibitor from 34 countries, 1,600 delegates, 2,000 speakers and 22 thousand visitors who register online.
"The business sector is optimistic future infrastructure development can become the motor of economic growth that is equitable, fair, sustainable throughout the Indo nesia.
The exhibition with the theme Bringing Together Indonesia 'Infrastructure Markets was also attended by Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Muljono Basuki Hadi, Minister of National Development Planning (PPN) / Head of Bappenas Bambang Brodjonegoro and Vice Chairman of Kadin Infrastructure Erwin Aksa.
